What is Stealthplate? Stealthplate is a self-adhesive, transparent polycarbonate cover that, when placed over your number plate, prevents most infra-red (IR) cameras from imaging your registration.

Well, here's a fun little trick I just saw on TikTok that could potentially help get you out of trouble on the road. All you need is a banana. Yup. According to one creator, this common yellow fruit can help make your license plates unreadable to traffic cameras.

We do not recommend that you use Stealthplate on the road because it might be illegal in the country you live in. What's more, if you use it to try to evade road tolling charges, you might actually be breaking laws regarding fraud, so think carefully.

But more sinisterly, it can be used to hide the identity of a car being used in illegal crime. Essentially stealing the identity of your car in order to hide theirs. It is a crime to clone plates, if caught with a cloned plate you can be fined and/or charged depending on the circumstances.

Low price aside, we found little to recommend any of the license plate covers. Same for the photo sprays. A few of the plate covers seemed promising but none affected our cameras. And some are easy to spot, increasing the risk of being ticketed for an obscured license plate.

The photo blocker not only comes as sticker but also as spray. Once the number plate is sprayed with the blocker, it will work as a reflector and will overexpose the image of the number plate, rendering the picture unreadable. As it is sprayed or pasted on the number plates, no one will able to detect it.

This is to protect the car and seller from identity theft and plate cloning.
